The Agri Recovery Program is FoodCycle Indonesia’s initiative to rescue surplus or rejected vegetables—produce that may not meet cosmetic or quality control (QC) standards but is still fresh, safe, and nutritious. Instead of ending up in landfills, this food is redistributed to communities in need.
Every year, thousands of tons of food are wasted especially surplus or rejected vegetables being wasted everyday. Through Agri Recovery, we aim to bridge that gap by Reducing food waste at the agricultural level while supporting smallholder farmers and packing houses.
We partner with several farmers and packing houses in Lembang, West Java, to identify edible but unsellable produce.
The food is sorted by our team and volunteers for safety, then transported to our warehouse.
The rescued vegetables are delivered to underserved communities via FoodCycle’s local networks.
